I've just invented a perfume made from holy water.

I've called it Eau my God.

I'm a bit of a chemist and a perfume hobbyist/enthusiast. Seeing this makes me want to have my own, small scale laboratory (and a better budget). Also, it's nice to see the similarities: the fragrance flacons, pipettes, dispensers, etc.
My understanding is that each perfume has had on average 800 test fragrances, before going to market! Astounding. Here she is talking about 1 in 10. That's quite impressive.

I am also a perfumery enthusiast. I am currently experimenting with the raw materials at home. The thing how to construct the perfume is totally hidden by a very nice marketing curtain and only this is shown to consumers we are. It needs years to learn, spread the chemical knowledge and really master the perfumery raw materials in different dilutions to figure out what to do. Perfumery is about chemical and mathematical precision, scales and calculations, using synthetics and naturals combined. The whole think is really passionating. I had an opportunity to visit Grasse and International Perfume Museum, a really outstanding place.

How much does it cost for a business to develop a fragrance with them I wonder? Perfumes are usually very expensive, they must charge quite a lot...

That's damn interesting! I think I would love a job like this, or in the very least visit their factory one day.

I like to often combine my perfumes to find my own preferences and I find that works better for me than buying so many more perfumes. Though I already have alot haha 😂

I just learned about Bond no.9 and I'm hooked with the brand. My credit card suffered but so many good scents to choose from. Other brands I like are Michael Kors and Dior.
