I like how Emi is slowly but steadily delivering us a full ATPL (A) course through his videos. 🙂

Thank you! So far I've always used TCAS in ALL mode but now I know when to put it into ABV and BLW. TA/RA has always been more straightforward for me.

Ahh this is a fantastic topic. Would love more info on how to use TCAS, including the basics of how to read it.

It really depends on the TCAS model installed on the Airbus.
According to my FCOM it’s either +/-7000ft or +/-9900ft max depending on the TCAS model installed, with +/-2700 ft being the min
So the ALL position gives a +/-2700ft volume buffer, while the ABV or BLW gives a Min +/-2700 & Max +/- 7000 or 9900 depending on MSN#

Useful as always. An idea for a future video perhaps?... one on symbology in the PFD, ND, ECAM etc... all those little symbols and what they mean in various contexts?

Very helpful to get this explanation. Thank you!🙏🏽

I hoped this video would explain the reasons for different SOPs for the timing of when to turn on TA or TA/RA before/during the line up on the ground

Hello Emanuel,

It would be cool to see Traffic list which is in the FMGS and ATSAW.

You should make a video about weight, balance, fuel and mac% on the a320-200

Hi Emmanuel, thanks a lof for your video, as always I learned something new, I have a concern, but probably is related to the software for the Pilot/ATC network I flight for, once I have a traffic bellow me 1000' on the Fenix A320 ND display I was't able to see the traffic until it was at 20 NM from me, but in the TACACS for the pilot software for that network, I see the traffic since 80 NM, are you aware of any limitation in how far the TACACS see the traffic at your same or similar FL?
Thanks in advance for your support

TA is also used when departing from runways that are parallel correct?

Are they not whole round numbers because they know you can see the last 100-200ft?

Ok can’t get the tcas to work in my 320 leap. Follow your directions which were fine 5 months ago but after the summer I returned to the sim and ran into this issue with the tcas. Is it better in larger airports?

I heard this from another sim YouTuber that when you are in final approach / landing, pilots would turn on TA mode since there might be traffic on the taxiway near the runway and to avoid any RA warnings and potentially emergency climb from the aircraft as a result of those aircraft on the ground. Is this true? (I assume it is since at least the FBW a32x automatically turns on TA only during final)

And when on VATSIM always use “ALL” lol

what is the diff between auto and on mode on the TCAS system? and when controllers on vatsim ask to squak Charlie, do I put the switch on auto or on mode? Another question: Is it okay if I am taxing to the runway and I switch to Ta or Ta/Ra just to have an idea of the traffic coming in and out etc. Will that affect other aircrafts or will that even be beneficial to me?
