🖐🏼TASTE SAFE HOMEMADE PLAY DOUGH DIY 🌈

Warning: This stuff is addicting to make! 🤩 Once you make one, there’s no going back to store bought 😜. But seriously, it’s the best. Made out of food grade items, it is taste safe, long lasting, and extremely fun for kids to play with. It is by far my absolute favorite sensory recipe to make ❤️.

💡Just two tips based on a lot of trial and error on my part 🙈: use the same measuring cup for all the ingredients and tap the cup full of flour so that all the air bubbles come out and you measure accurately ❤️.

👉🏼YOU’LL NEED:
-1 cup flour
-1/2 cup table salt
-2 tbsp cream of tartar
-1 tbsp oil -1 cup boiling water
-Food coloring

👉🏼INSTRUCTIONS:
1️⃣In a bowl, combine the flour, salt and cream or tart. Mix well.
2️⃣Add the oil
3️⃣Mix a few drops of food coloring into the boiling water and add to the bowl.
4️⃣Mix everything very well and massage with your hand until it is no longer sticky. •
💡Storage: Wait for the play dough to cool completely. Wrap in plastic and place in an air tight container. Store at room temperature for up to 6 months!!

I made this today, and it was a big success with my kids (5 and 3). I did have to add about a quarter cup of corn starch to take away the stickiness, like someone already recommended doing. Maybe it is because of my flour? I was using strong flour.

I tried it different ways.
With flour and water it still seems too sticky.
So I rolled it out and gave it a "dusting" of corn starch.
Combined that into it and it takes that stickiness away.

Because my daughter is using cookie cutters and molds with them and they're sticking to fingers and cutters.

Now they don't.

So if yours is too sticky too
Use corn starch to remove the stickies

Works great! What food coloring are you using? Mine didn’t turn out as vibrant as yours.

i can do it cos we have cream of tartar in 🇵🇭

You have to knead the dough to get rid of stickyness, just like when you make bread etc. Add flour too, no biggie

No way the recipe is right.
1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of salt to 1 cup of water?!?

It is soup.
No way.
I had to keep adding four to it became prettier consistency.
Probably added another cup and half extra
