I Wish These 5 Guns Were The First I Bought For Preparedness
If I had to start my firearms ownership journey all over, these are the first five guns in order that I would buy for preparedness & SHTF prepping purposes.

If I had started my firearms ownership journey by buying these 5 guns in the order presented, things would have been more practical and affordable. But hey, maybe you can learn from my mistakes if perhaps your a new gun owner looking to up your preparedness game or maybe someone who lost their collection and has to start over.

Did you make some of the same mistakes as me when you first started buying guns for preparedness? If you could start it all over, would you follow my order of priority? Or do you have a better idea?

Yes you definitely need these guns but more importantly you need a firearm for each member of the household to carry and use.

Before buying, I highly recommend that new gun owners go to a range that rents firearms, especially pistols.

Regardless of what gun you choose, make sure you wear mirrored glasses and tactical gloves.

Your YouTube name should be changed to Pepé Le Pew Pew.

40 years ago, when I started, revolvers were cheap because of the new wonder nines. AKs were 300, but ARs were 1500.
SKS was 75 bucks. Lol. Any used shotgun was less than 100. 22 rifle was 50.
The times dictate the priority. 😊
Good video, brother. 👍

Also, the 22LR, the 9MM, the .223/5.56, 12G, and the 308 are also the most common rounds out there and if it were a SHTF situation.... gaining extra ammo would be easier to get for those firearms

I grew up in a household with a lot of guns. I can remember being 10-12 years old and just admiring my dads collection of 50+ firearms. Unfortunately, like many others, we fell on hard times and dad sold nearly all in the collection. He kept one in each “class” if you will. I’ve started my collection the same way. I’ve got my EDC pistol, a good 12 gauge shotgun, an AR15, a Rem. 700 for my bolt, and a lever action 22. I think it’s safe to say, I could tackle most tasks with what I have on hand. Now that I have the essentials, it’s time to start the fun stuff!

Great advice. My 308 is an M1A. My 22 LR is a take down model. Fun to shoot and I started my kids on it.

If I were starting out today:
1. M&P 2.0 5" 9 mm
2. S&W FPC
3. M&P 15-22
4. AR platform rifle
5. 12 gauge shotgun probably Mossberg Maverick 88

Besides the M&P being the most reliable pistol out there, Smith and Wesson value is simply the best out there currently. With the cross compatibly of the pistol and PCC, in both magazines and caliber. The 15-22 gives you the dedicated 22 lr with AR platform battery of arms. The AR platform rifle comes next due to ammo availability, otherwise I would choose the AR 10.
Finally 12 gauge gives you multiple usage cases from bird and small game hunting, up to deer and even large game. Also adds a layer of home defense that is devastating.
These are choices for shtf not personal preference but practical choices chozen for value over flash.

9mm, 22LR, 12 gauge and 308Win are the four essentials in my opinion. I bought my 10/22 from K-mart in 1989 at a cost of $120. I had to replace the barrel in 2002...LOL. What you mentioned about AR variability is extremely important.

Digging the ACOG set-up....very nice.

I would have to agree with you on the type of guns, but the first one I would buy is the shotgun. Good for everything.

I remember back in the day you could buy the Ruger 10/22 at K-Mart on sale for 79.99 and a box of 22 ammo for.80 cents

summary of Magic Prepper's video recommendations:
1. S&W 500 magnum 8.5" barrel (every day carry, shoulder holster for personal defense)
2. NAA Mini Revolver .22 LR 1.125" barrel (with taclight and laser, provides reliable home defense and can be passed to lesser trained family members)
3. Marlin 1895 Stainless 45-70 18" barrel (good for varmint removal such as rodents in garden)
4. Barrett M81A1 .50 BMG 29" barrel (necessary for serious dove hunting, ubiquitous ammo choices for upland bird and waterfowl)
5. Pedersoli Brown Bess .75 caliber smoothbore musket 42" barrel (tons of utility, doubles as shotgun for small game and bird hunting, can be loaded with fishing weights or rocks in an emergency)

I think a pump shotgun in 12 or 20 gauge with 2 barrels (shot and slug) would be my first choice

My list, for those in more restricted states would be .22lr, any bolt rifle, 12ga shotgun. Shotguns, in my opinion, are the most capable and diverse weapons system available. They are cheaper than most weapons, and you can set them for anything.
