Sony's latest range of Xperia phones is just around the corner, so with leaks left right and center i thought i'd do a round up of what we know so far as well as what i think needs to happen to make the next gen xperia phones the best there is on the market !

Ahead of Sony MWC 2024 where Sony is believed to reveal their new xperia range find the latest leaks and rumours about the new xperia mk 6 range as well as my wishlist about features in this wish list unboxing

I got my Xperia 1 V in December I love it! Best phone I've ever had. Love everything about it. Especially the camera. I wish I gave sony phones a shit sooner. I should have known, I like all other Sony products, especially their TVs. By the way just bought Sony 65 inch A80L OLED TV's. I know this is about phone, but anyone looking for new TV, definitely pick this up. Sick picture quality and audio!

The fingerprint sensor is the best thing about Sony phones. Under display ones are terrible.

I'd like the zoom lens to start at 50mm as there's too much of a jump between the main camera and the 85mm currently

I think Sony should adopt the software approach when outputting photos using auto mode to attract point and shoot audiences, and in manual mode, they should stay with their current approach. That way they can win both types of audiences.

Bring back the notification LED, put the new sensor on all sensors, and up the charging limitations to 67W.

Notification LED, bigger camera Sensors, smaller display bezels while still no notches or punchholes, better and longer os support (android 14 is a messed up catastrophe), Sony own apps like album and so on.. ridged edges like on 1 V

Already disappointed by the camera specs. Why does Sony not use their LYT900? Or at least LYT800.
Tele cam is just too small and performance will be similar to the 1 V with the lower aperture. This is simply not comparable to other flagships anymore. Sony was on the forefront in terms of hardware but always lacked in terms of software. Now they lack behind with both. :/

I like to see all 1inch camera sensor in the Sony Xperia that is it and Xperia can be the drone that can fly to take the photo and video that amazing I think...

Fingerprint sensor on the back would be better than on the front. On the back you can keep all fingers (including the thumb) but one finger holding the phone. If it gets moved to the front (particularly the front bottom ala Samsung), you have to unlock with the thumb which means you aren't gripping the phone at all.

When you talk about using zebra etc., some of these functions are unlocked when you attach a Sony Alpha camera to the Xperia 1 V so they just need to unlock these features. But will they do it..

Regarding the 48 mm mode on the Xperia 5V is that different from Xperia 1V Basic mode 2x zoom? That seems to be pretty sharp. Just asking.

Also, regarding the light capabilities at nighttime on the main sensor in basic mode I have managed to replicate those in manual mode, so perhaps the data is in the shot and can be brought out in Lightroom but the enhancing after-processing is only done for jpegs in basic mode? You have to fiddle a bit with the settings though and perhaps use the creative looks as well.

When that is said a shutter mode would be nice, using the shutter button to select the length of the shot.

And an 11x zoom would be sweet!

Aperture control in manual mode is also another feature which I miss in sony. It would be great to take pictures in bright sunlight.

How is the sound quality on xperia 1 v on bluetooth headphones when using aptx and ldac code compared to iphone aac and samsung s24? Is there big difference??

Great video and you have nailed many of the items on my wishlist. I do feel that the 'zoom' dual focal length lens does come with compromises in terms of quality. Just give us the larger 48MP sensor and crop in like Samsung S24U

Better processing on the basic mode for those quick snapshot situations would be good. On the hardware front, it would be good to improve antenna reception as I can find this a weak point compared with other brands

What do you think about the image quality on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra? I'm having problems choosing between The X Peria I VI, 14 Ultra, and yes, the Iphone 15 Pro Max.

Not holding my breath for the 1VI. I wouldn't consider Exmor T across the board as a major improvement. It's disappointing, but I can't make a final verdict until I actually see results. But going off of the 1V, it's going to be just another 1V with a likely eye watering price.

Sony may research and develop great technology, but every other brand utilizes it so much better. It's almost offensive that they try and call themselves THE phone for photographers.

As for RAW bursting, it's not an ISP issue. I found out you can get 30fps RAW, yes 30 fps RAW burst using an app called MotionCam. The kicker? Xperia is one of the few devices that works so poorly with third party apps because of Sony
