Does the resistor have to be 10k i have very close to 10 it still dont work

470 / 1023 = 0.459433 x 100 = 45.9433% Brightness.
313 / 1023 = 30.59628% Brightness.

45.94% - 30.59% = 15.3437% Brightness decrease.

I am using a module. The Serial monitor shows the opposite of yours. When I put a show on it it goes up to 700+ but if there is light it goes down to 300+
