For me, Peter Mattei is the best lyric baritone on the stages today.

Love your ❤️ interpretation. Bravo ! So touching with such deep expressions. I almost cry. After I watched The Met three weeks ago from the Nightly free opera - Tabbhäuser. Then I came across to know you (Wolfram) - Mr. Peter Mattei.

The most beautiful baritone voice. I've seen him as Giovanni, Onegin, and Amfortas.

Dear Met Opera, please post the wonderful interview with the harpist in Tannhäuser working with Peter Mattei.

EXQUISITE. Sounded even better live in the house.

That set looks so cool. It's like I'm really looking at a bard having a moment to himself in a night landscape.

Walked in an hour late to the October 31 broadcast. Didn't miss that much plot lol

A beautiful voice in the true sense of the word...According to my opinion, only two singers have the extraordinary power to impress only by the color of their timbre, apart other qualities: Jonas Kaufmann and Peter Mattei

Why is it that until I logged in my comment didn't show in the list? Are these censored by the Met? I wouldn't be surprised

The amount of pitch problems and straight tone in his singing are not acceptable. Peter is a great singer, but in this video it is not good.

How can a director plan such old-fashioned staging, so ridiculous ! Costume and standing up facing the audience !!! And the harp !!!! Grotesque ! Such a fantastic singer and actor as Peter Mattei deserves more ! He was so moving with Sasha Waltz and Barenboim. One could not help crying seeing and hearing such pain in a grown up man in a suit breaking up and staggering, and the few dancing steps were so devastating. And the glasses in the shoe. You felt you were seeing something so intimate. Here he just sings beautifully a beautiful aria. Of course, sometimes modern directors have stupid ideas, but when it is brilliant, it talks to the soul. Anything is better than that !!!

Painful! What key does he think he's singing in? They would have been better off hiring a conservatory amateur.
