I have always been a Chamberlain guy, but I am now a converted Geinie guy. Thanks to you.

Thanks you for the head up on which brand supported Home Assistant. I will go with the Genie model.

Thanks for this awesome video! My liftmaster in my town home just died. It was from 06/2000! 24 years ago I think I’m going with the genie just for the automation! Thanks again. Liked and subscribed.

I never use the outdoor keyboard to close the garage door. I always use the inside wall controller to close it!

Also the Chamberlain wall control looks cheap and doesn't have a vacation lockout feature, which is important.

It would of been nice for you to compare the two for which one was quieter !

Noticed you don't have a spring installed. Did you not need one with this lift and size/weight of door?

I have a Chamberlain and even though I am a heavy Home Assistant user, I don't really care that there is no integration. The one feature that I like is an auto door closure after 5 minutes. Yes, it can be annoying sometimes to have it close on you when you don't want it to (you can manually place a hold to prevent closure) but I'd much prefer having it closed than left open for long periods of time. And yes, the one button closure on the keypad is nice but I just assumed that was standard.

There is a difference in warranty times and the accessories on the Chamberlain, depending on what model you buy. I have an older Chamberlain that came wit a much nicer indoor keypad with a digital display that shows temp. time and the ability to change a lot of other features of the opener. One thing I like about the Chamberlain is the auto close in case you drive off and forget to close it. I have had Genie openers since 1980 with very good luck, but I don't remember why I switched to Chamberlain. I still have the first Ryobi opener that was made and it is a much stronger built opener then Chamberlain or Genie. Some day I will have to replace it with a Chamberlain when it quits, since they don't make them anymore after getting sued by Chamberlain.

Not sure about the Genie however, I like the auto-close after 10 minute feature the Chamberlain gives me. So if I forgot to close it....

Nice video. Informative, for sure. I have a heavy wooden door on a two car garage. Which Genie model would be powerful enough to lift the door. A 1/2 HP is not going to be enough. The door currently has two springs that help, but it is still heavy. The original door opener is a 1984 vintage that is on its last leg. I have not been able to determine the brand or HP of the original opener. It is light green in color. Thank you for any recommendation for my specific need.

Chamberlain's greedy BS with charging a subscription fee to open your garage door is enough to make me never buy any of their products.

If you have Torsion Spring I like installing wall mount openers.

I had chamberlain in my old house and made the mistake of getting two for our new house. Pro's they look nicer, and the wall control has great features like a close timer, clock and temperature. I purchased them before they decided to charge for automation and was pretty upset about the change. Thankfully I can still use Google assistant to close the door, but I can no longer open it unless I use the app. A big con for me is the constant advertisements they added to the app and they remove the ability to have one door per screen. If I could use my existing wall control with genie, I would totally buy two new openers.
I like that infinity shield but what I did was mount the existing sensor at bumper level. If I back in or pull in I can see the green LED stop blinking when the sensor is clear.

Hi, please, what do you recommend as the most extremely ultra silent quiet affordable opener, my landlord is kind of on the cheap side

So I see this online some with torsion spring some like your without? I have a single door with spring and I need to replace the door and want to replace the opener as well. can I get a new door and use this opener directly mounted to the wall like you did without the spring and shaft?

The genie one just sounds better as far as replacement parts and looks easier to install.
