Maya 2017 Bifrost Splash Tutorial

Ok so I can see that your time slider is green, you move the mouse over it many times so it must be pretty important. did you get it that way? What is the meaning of it being green? Mine isn't turning green just because I highlight the objects except for the ball

This is a great tutorial.I need the Splash for a VFX effect and I can't get Maya to work properly. It freezes and near unusable whenever I'm using the Bifrost. I cut the particles to 10, use the least amount of details allowed, make the smallest size I can to avoid consuming a lot of resources and it still freezes. I've run things, games alot heavier than Maya 2017 with little to no issues. Is there any way around this?

my timeline doesn't turn green, it's blue all the time and works really slow
