I’d feel 100% MORE safe investing in Japan & South Korea than I would ever feel to invest in China…

Regardless of the state of the zero covid policy, the damage is already done.

China's #1 economic problem is the mortgage crisis.

The real estate bubble has gotten so bad in China that many were buying properties sight unseen and indeed before they were built, with financing.

The reasoning is that the property will have appreciated greatly in value by the time it's finished, and can then be sold for profit or rented.

However, the construction companies were running a ponzi scheme. They were using the money brought in from future projects to pay for the construction of units that they've already sold.

When they failed to deliver houses on time, there were mass protests and a mass movement to stop paying mortgages.

It was international news.

Like they said. China is getting old and the young are few. Economy is based on production and how much production can be done with 50% of the population or less?

Chinese people are great but in a country where you could get into a lot of trouble for just saying anything about the rulers, its very difficult to form relations.

China will never overtake the US economy. People thought Japan would overtake the US in the nineties but that never happened either

Months ago people keep saying China is crashing

Everyone is saying the US is in decline, but if it plays it’s cards right it may just be getting started. The US just needs to focus on relations with its neighbors instead of across the globe.

No one has predicted economic growth correctly ever.
Aging and declining population are concern of almost every rich countries, not limited to only China.

CHINA has a tough decision to make. Either play ball and leave Taiwan alone . Or make the mistake of invading Taiwan and suffer economic collapse and more than likely famine.

I mean, there was a time that Japan was set to overtake the United States, and we all know how that turned out.
