Game design and Niantic Project connection?

I'm familiar with the concept of 'parallel development', that people can come up with the same idea across great distances, without having ever met the other.

I've been working on this game design concept for some time now, and the surface similarities to Ingress are fascinating to me. GPS integration, territory control, factories that generate a resource while claimed by a player.

Not to mention that a few months ago I felt the need to distribute this game design publicly. Even tho I'm not developing it myself, I wanted to share the concept with the world, in case someone else had the means to make it a reality (or if people just wanted to crib some ideas for their own games). Here is the document, published through Google Drive with a CC-BY license (so feel free to use it however you want, just credit me if you use it in whole) =]

I'm going to be creating introductory videos for some of my other game design documents and sharing those as well, but the possible connection to the Niantic Project is what got me to post this one first.
