Cafe Du Monde Beignets at home!

More like Bein-Yays! We had no idea how simple and easy beignets were to make! Okay, so we did buy the Cafe Du Monde box to make them. Is that cheating? But hey, we deep-fried something for the first time EVER and that seemed like a big enough risk as it was. Also, we had it on good authority (Natalie's Mom) that this box mix was perfection and totally acceptable in polite company.
Happy Mari Gras everyone! Don't forget to add extra powdered sugar. No really, if you think you have enough, Natalie says one more spoonful.

Those look so good! I've seen that mix and the chicory coffee at World Market before, but never tried them. And I'm impressed by the Cafe Du Monde sign; are you going to leave it up for a while?

I have no funny comment because finding out that Natalie managed to be in Cafe du Monde dressed in black without getting any powdered sugar on her has revealed that she is the ruler of the universe and we must bow down accordingly.

Also didn't know you were from NOLA! I lived there for a while myself so wild to think we may have been there at the same time without knowing. I can't beat your powdered sugar story but I did meet Bill Clinton at Cafe du Monde once so at least there's that.

I LOVE THAT MIX! I made beignets a few months ago and they came out great! This makes me want to make them again. Great video!

Also I think I used two spoons to baste the oil. I wanna try putting chocolate inside them and then frying them.
