People forget that the entire western front of the European theatre (that's the one the US, UK, France, Nz, Australia and Canada fought in) was basically a side quest... the combined forces of all of these countries only faced one fifth of the German army.... the Russians single handedly fought the vast majority in the east.

In Soviet and German data, the human losses figures are not equivalent. In Soviet figures, both combat and non-combat losses (sick, deserted, accident...) were counted. In German, they did not count non-combat losses, and did not take into account the number of the missing, or died in hospitals from wounds, they counted only "front-line losses".

The Russian Army of today is not the Red Army of 1943 that learned there lessons after 1941. The Russian Army is learning don't get me wrong but it is not an apt comparison.

The loss ratio suffered by the Soviets was roughly 5:1 in favour of the Germans.[358] Large Soviet reserves of equipment and their high rate of tank production enabled the Soviet tank armies to quickly replace lost equipment and maintain their fighting strength.[357] The Red Army repaired many of its damaged tanks; many Soviet tanks were rebuilt up to four times to keep them in the fight. Soviet tank strength went back up to 2, 750 tanks by 3 August due to the repair of damaged vehicles.[359]

Those ukranians are resilient as f. If you told anybody they held on for this long without them knowing about any war, they'd laugh at you. And look at them

There is no russia in 1943 .There is the Soviet Union which was made out of 15 Republics .All of our people fought in the war not only the russians.

I think ukraine has proven this guy wrong. Russia was not good at conventional war or combined arms. They had 30M men to throw at the german lines and they did. They suffered 12 to 1 casualties and still kept coming. They won because they ran the germans out of bullets. They have attempted the same thing in ukraine but ukraine keeps getting just enough to keep firing.

I do believe if they invaded Afghanistan with let’s say 5000 tank artillery and around 1000 aircraft planes they would have defeated them, they made bad decisions of underestimating that country

Nope.... as a historian, the biggest tank battle was in Hungary, Debrecen, but the biggest armored wehicle and artillery, and tank battle was in Kursk.

They were never good at conventional war. They were good at throwing so many meat shields into battle they wore the enemy down. On paper they won the battle, but lost way more men.
