An overwhelming majority of voters have backed the Albanese government's changes to superannuation, according to the latest Newspoll.

However, despite almost two-thirds of respondents backing the policy, the government has been marked down in other areas.

Only because they don't think it'll affect their own taxes. Albo will be coming after their money soon enough...

Majority of Australians haven't read the legislation.

This policy was polled and focus grouped before the 2022 election. It is the first step in Labor's plan to tax unrealised capital gains on people's homes and stocks valued at $3m or more. The significance of $3m is that it is less than the combined value of Albo's two residential properties, a house in Marrickville and a home unit in Canberra. He does not have a share portfolio. It is part of Albo's war on "Tories", as he calls anyone who is richer than him. In Albo's utopia most of us will be reduced to an impoverished proletariat ruled over a party-based dictatorship as has happened in every Marxist country.

I don’t and it doesn’t effect me. I just hate the blatant broken promises.

There are approximately 16.5 million registered voters in Australia, only 1530 of those 16.5 million voters were surveyed in this poll.

Well why would you not back this decision? The life of the 80’000 who are affected won’t even change at all

The vote should I only go out to people who are employed or retired.

How meaningful is that claim if the people running the poll never actually verified if the interviewees were registered to vote?

People have no problem with higher tax rates on larger sums of funds.
Yes, there may have been a broken promise, but if the policy only applies to a select few, no one cares.
