Sir we have to find out area of shaded region not the empty space. I think you misunderstood the question.
Therefore, it will be 42+42=84. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Shouldnt it be just sum of all the shaded numbers which is 84 because while calculating the individual shaded area area of rectangle is substracted

Can i subtract area of 4 semicircles from area of square. Why r u taking full area of full square to calculate area of two shaded region.
