The Eurovision Song Contest is back!

Eurovision: You Decide is back for 2019 with a brand new format! Eurovision superfan Mel Giedroyc and the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, Mans Zelmerlow, host live from MediaCityUK in Salford as the show comes from the north west of England for the very first time.

This 90-minute Eurovision extravaganza gives viewers the opportunity to vote for the song they want to represent the UK at the biggest music competition in the world.

In an exciting format change, each of the three competing songs is performed in two different ways, by two different acts. A celebrity panel and viewers at home make the decision on which song represents the UK at the sixty-fourth Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Tel Aviv, Israel, in May 2019. The show features special performances and surprises.

Sweden: Måns is ours
“I’m 100% on your side”
Britain: IS HE NOW

As much flack as they get, BBC actually did great with this! Bringing Måns on was a stroke of genius.

This is not really related but can both Mans and Petra host ESC forever already?😍

I told my son "1997 was the last time the UK won Eurovision."
"You mean 'The latest', dad?"
"Nope. The last."

I think a shout out is needed for Edward af Sillén who wrote and created this performance. He’s the writer for Melfest, wrote the scripts for Eurovision 2013 and 2016 in Sweden (including the iconic Love Love Peace Peace) and as far as I’m aware the scripts for the recent additions of You Decide, and it shows. He’s truly a master script writer for these type of entertainment shows and an absolute genius when it comes to musical pieces with his wit and creativity (you can tell if Edward is in charge).
I had the honour of meeting him last year at You Decide as he came to chat with some of the fans and was the most humble man; asking what we thought of the show and whether it was funny. The BBC would be very smart to try and get him to work for them on a regular basis (I know he’s very well respected but those who know him and is friends with Graham Norton), but he is pretty loyal to SVT so I can’t see that happening.
ANYWAY, Edward (as well as Mans) did a great job with this and deserves the recognition!!

The UK preselection is now more entertaining than the actual Eurovision thanks to Måns and Mel. They're an absolutely fantastic double act each year. Hats off to Måns for his energetic reprise of these Eurovision classics and getting Cheryl, Jay, Mike and Katrina along was the icing on the cake.

We even picked a half decent entry this year! If the UK were to win the entire thing, I propose Måns and Mel present the 2020 Eurovision from London.

That was a great medley. You've got to admire Mans' energy and humor, and cheers to Jay, Cheryl, Mike and Katrina for joining in the fun. I was happy that Mans and Mel did a little Bardo - I love "One Step Further." Also, here's to the 50th anniversary of Lulu's co-victory with "Boom Bang a Bang!"

This guy is the greatest host Eurovision has ever had. He's so convincing, if he went into politics he'd be the perfect demagogue: you'd unquestionally buy everything he says if he delivered it like this.

Mans and Mel are both so multi-talented. Skit was incredible. Bravo to the producers involved in it!
