I'm normally a traditionalist, but I like this. My only concern is if the crowd will be too loud in the playoffs to hear it. Also I would hate to see technical difficulties or low batteries interfere with a game. It won't be 100% perfect, but it's better than the old hand signal system. Also they can always fall back to hand signs if something goes wrong

I just heard an interview with Padres Darvish who said that it was many times difficult to hear because of the loud noise at the ground. So after missing the comments, they actually had to go back to hand signal to communicate again…Darvish said its a good concept but the problem is you cant always hear…

The most telling part of this video is when Harold Reynold says "back in the day when they had hit and runs or bunts and stuff like that." You mean, back when there was actual strategy involved in the game?

They still need to get the hitter to quit wandering around and stay in the box.

They could do a hybrid system with runner on 2nd. Have the tech say the real pitch then sign a different pitch. That could mess with the batter/ runner communication.

It either works on Bluetooth technology or radio frequencies. Either way the signal can be intersepted or jammed.
