John Deere X300 Snow Blade Demo (HD)

**FEEL FREE TO ASK AND QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE ON THE TRACTOR OR BLADE** The John Deere x300 with a front blade. In the beginnig I show how big of a deal it is to have atleast 2 weights. The improvment in traction is incredable. The blade is raised and lowered with the left foot pedal that is normally used to raise and lower the deck. I decided to get carlile All Trail II tires. The stock ones just weren't getting me up the hills in the summer on grass. They are easy on the turf and are EXCELENT in the snow. I didnt slip at all plowing the top driveway. But when the hill of my driveway turned to ice, I ordered a pair of chains. If you have a flat driveway you should just get a pair of these tires and beneift from them all year arround. The chains tend to scrach the driveway up. the plow markers were ordered off of amazon for $20, the give a better view of the plow. All you do is drilla hole and bolt them on. I also bought the 12v outlet accesory. I bought a spotlight and threw it on the back for when I need to see backing up in the winter when plowing. That plugs into the 12v outlet.

I am considering an x320 or jumping into the larger x500 series for the diff lock. The 300 series seems to do about 90% of what I want except that I have a large long hill in back and when I load the wagon full of dirt or wood and try to pull the load with my current husqy tractor looses traction and one wheel spins loose. judging from the video the two wheels in back drive the unit.

I was able to install the blade by myself. It comes with detailed instructions. If you are able to take the mowing deck off, you will have no problem installing it. Once you have the mounts mounted underneath they can stay on the whole year and the blade hooks up in literally 2 minutes once the deck is off of the unit.

Anyone that would let a 12 year old operate a 3000.00 mower is CRAZY! I have an X300 and it cost 3200.00 Brand new and the snow blade and the attachment apparatus with chains and weights (50 lb each) was $ 475.00. WORKS LIKE A CHARM for snow removal up to 6 inches. So you figure adding all this up runs about 3700.00 with tax. I have had my model X300- 48" deck with POWER STEERING for 4 years now and still runs like a charm ! I have JD service it in the fall and they drop the deck and attache the blade and chains for 50.00 and then remove them and replace the deck in the spring. I can mow my acre in 1 hour and 40 minutes around a LOT of trees and stuff.... These mowers do not lose much value and they will operate WITH GOOD SERVICE AND CARE for 20 years .

I have a x350 and thought it would work for all x300 series. But I have an different set up. Trying to figure it out =/

On the x300 the rear wheels do drive the tractor. As shown at the begining on the video, If the amout of resistance is equal on both tires, both will spin. If one wheel has a liitle less friction (or traction) it will spin. There have been to many times when I wish both wheels would work togather as in the locked rear diff. Tires and weight is also a HUGE help for traction. Unless you mow a flat lawn, even the upgraded turf tires are useless. I can tell a huge difference with the all trails

@Paintballeretek3 That's allright. The tractor was $2, 999 plus tax, 42' mower deck included. John Deere will not come down in price untill you get into the bigger series of tractor. Ocasionally John Deere will have a special offer such as low interest rates, $500 off the tractor, 0% financing, and $250 off an accesory such as a blade or cart.

@Paintballeretek3 The rear weight bracket comes standard on all X300 series tractors. It is a metal bracket welded onto the the frame and can hold up to four 42lbs qick attach weights.

For the price I would have to say the snow blade is the better choice. Honestly the blade has done everything I have expected and more. Even in deep snow, I angle to blade and it rolls right off the side to there i need it. The key is at the beginning of the winter, push the snow about 7 feet into your yard (with the blade raised of course) so that as the snow piles wont be pushes a huge pile. You can just move back and back each time. Also the blade can be used for scraping sod,

Like this video. I have suscribed. Question: Plow VS Snow thrower attachment? I have a X320 5 years now. I was told it would not push snow very well. I have seen that it can push snow. Snow thrower will throw it far out of the way, plow will not. Cost of plow VS blower?

How long have you been Plowing with this Model. I just bought an X300 and heard alot about the Transmission Loosing its power after working it hard like performing a task like snow plowing. I have no problems so far pulling a small trailer but wondering if down the road i decide to but a plow or blower on it, how long would the trannie last.

I'm surprised he moved the weights...straightening the front wheels often makes a huge difference.

Yes I did get it from my local dealer, its was about $710 +tax

Yes it did help. Price of weights, chains, snow blade would be 3/400 $? Yea, that would be worth the $ to me.
