Originally composed as a Prelude to a fugue, the Etude in F minor was eventually released in 1840 as part of Ignaz Moscheles "Méthode des méthodes". It features the three-hand technique, with soprano, bass, and accompaniment intertwining in a complex arrangement divided between the two hands. The churning angst of this Etude makes it a great introductory piece to Mendelssohn's signature style!

Your articulation of this piece is superb. I tried to play this piece several years ago, but found it to be too much of a 'finger twister'. I am motivated to revisit this piece after watching your video.

Loved that the climax ended with the same chord that chopins ballade 4 in f minor finished with. Great playing!

Great! what settings did you use to get such crystal-like effect?

Was this in your opinion harder than Mendelsson’s étude 104 n.1 to learn? This looks more complicated, but I’m finding it quite hard to make the melody stand out in the latter.
