There is intensifying international pressure on Myanmar over the violent repression of Rohingya Muslims. The United Nations and the US government hold the military responsible and are calling for stringent measures to deal with the crisis.

Tens of thousands of Rohingya refugees have been arriving in bordering Bangladesh daily after Myanmar's atrocious military crackdown led to a major hunger crisis.

Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein, a UN rights chief, told Al Jazeera that the international community must intervene if Myanmar's perpetrators are not punished for what has been called "crimes against humanity".

Al Jazeera's Osama Bin Javaid reports.

I think a root of this problem is Myanmar people who hate Rohingya. They do not accept Rohingya as an ethnic group. They just label Rohingya as stateless people. If Myanmar accepts and lives peacefully with Rohingya, there would be no humanitarian problem. Compare to Thailand. Thailand has a lot of ethnic groups. But Thailand has a good King and also a good policy towards good quality of life for all minority groups, no matter what belief or religion they hold to. Killing and harmful treatment to Rohingya is bad and sinful according to Buddhism. So a true Buddhist will never kill or harm anyone. True Buddhists seek to live peacefully with anyone of any religion.
