Показать описание
Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares hosted a press conference in Danville to provide an update on Operation Ceasefire's impacts on crime in the Cities of Roanoke, Lynchburg, Danville, and Martinsville. Attorney General Miyares was joined by Danville Police Chief Chris Wiles, City of Roanoke Police Chief Scott Booth, Lynchburg Commonwealth's Attorney Bethany Harrison, and other Ceasefire City leaders.
Announced by Attorney General Miyares in October 2022, Operation Ceasefire is a proven approach to address gun and gang violence through prosecution and prevention, as well as promoting group violence intervention strategies and working with local communities to reduce and prevent violent gun and gang crimes. It is coupled with Ceasefire Virginia, a public awareness media campaign running campaigns communicating the real and lasting consequences of gun violence through social media, television commercials, billboards, and other forms of media to Virginians in our Ceasefire Cities.
