After i watched Suzanne Wells video i wash ALL thrifted items. the only items i don't wash are the NWT items and those I will spray it down with unscented febreze and steam it. another tip for cleaning solution, I use a mixture of 1 part Hydrogen Peroxide + 2 part Blue Dawn Soap. I use an old toothbrush on the stain, let it sit and dab on it. It takes off all stains on clothing.

Tip from a 3rd generation dry cleaner for leather coats, vests...etc that have strong odors. Toss then in the dryer for 45 minutes on no heat along with 6 dryer sheets and 3 tennis balls. You may have to repeat cycle a second time. I have done this 3 times now with complete success, but only with newer items... Vintage jackets may have weak threads and i wouldn't try it.

Hey Casey. I know you sell a lot of ties and the post office has been giving me a hassle about 1st class letter and 1st class package rate. Well technically according to USPS regulations as thin as a package with a tie in it ends up being, it does not qualify as "1st class package" which is what eBay postage is. The difference is that regular "1st class Letter" which a tie qualifies as can not have tracking. I figured out a fix for this issue and have not had an issue since I started. The problem is the thickness. Well I started folding the tie around a 4X8" Packing bubble with a rubber band to hold it and then placing it into the poly mailer. This exceeds the needed thickness to qualify as "1st Class Package" instead of "1st Class Letter".
Hope this helps you and anyone who may have run into this issue with USPS

Dish liquid will easily remove grease stains. I use the scrub brush and toss in the washer. It works great!

I recently found a barely visible stain on a Pink Hollister Hoodie that I missed while photographing. After treating and rewashing I could still see it, probably because I know it's there. I quickly informed my Customer via email and instantly refunded her. If it does not meet ourown set standards, take the hit, and maintain your stores integrity.

Thank goodness about the Ties, Not only did I not know how to clean them but I hadn't checked the labels.

another one to try is *Oxi clean 5-in-1 Power Gel Stick* It's really good another reseller talked about it and I've tried it and it's great.

I need that Oxi and Shout! I hate when I find the stain once I get home from the thrift store, even after I thought I did a thorough look over. But it happens.

yooouuuu! So many "popular" resellers here with thousands and tens of thousands of followers don't wash their hauls. Friggin yuck

Also I find that after I wash my hauls, I can see any flaws that i missed at the store and can just toss in the redonate pile

Hair spray for ink stains, let it sit awhile before washing. Sometimes several treatments.

Thrift stores have horrible lighting on purpose! All of them! It's part of their tricks for selling! LOL

Well now I'll have more of an arsenal than just a Tide Pen! Lol My washing machine broke down, so I've not been able to really pick clothes. I'm a electronics guy, but diversify when I can, still reselling ties and jeans, but those jeans have to be high quality denim for me to invest in them.

I use zout and if it's a really bad stain, I'll add in Dawn with it and it's gotten stains out with no problem. Great video! :)

oxi whitening is incredible stuff. Works on colors too. The best. Bright white.

So do you factor in the detergent/water/electricity you need for that much laundry, into your cost of goods?

Thanks, Casey. All you need to do is to put a tie in the washer once to know: No! LOL Not gonna work. My dry cleaner charges $1.99, which I still think is a fair price for cleaning an nice tie. I agree: that can't be for all the stains. Thanks for endorcement on the stain treatments. I needed some ideas. Appreciate it.
