Reggie Watts AltspaceVR Event Reaction

Ever get stuck in a stalled train car, then suddenly find yourself talking to the person next to you? And before you know it, you're bonding over the shared experience of being late for something? That was kind of this.

Things didn't go quite right, but it was a fascinating social event, and I look forward to seeing what future ones are like. I would recommend populating the rooms with games-- if you're experiencing technical difficulties, then at least let us play VR foosball :P

The full body tracking was amazing, Reggie looked so cool. That's the future. I want the Perception Neuron.

I managed to see parts of the concert but the audio was too glitchy to be worthwhile. It was better on YouTube. I love Altspace though, and I have faith that they're gonna get better and better.

It was weird.. I think I found my way through the glitches and actually experienced the live Reggie set. He was supper glitchy and surreal, but seemed to be responding to the visuals in the room I was in. But there were only 30 people there at most.. Still, during the thank yous, he was thanking people and avatars in my particular room. I un muted myself and provided some audience feedback, as performers need this sort of interplay, and it was FUN!
We were dancing around with leap motion hands and everything was awesome...
I recorded it, but no audio!! DOH!!

Well I missed it but we have to remember these things can be hard to get right but let's hope they stick with it and get it working because it's very cool idea!

I managed to catch a bit of the show before I went to bed. there were audio issues and some odd glitches but still a very good event.

I didn't have any issues getting in or crashing. The first performer had issues though. And they had some sound issues breaking up from the main stage (but not in the individual rooms). After a while I moved to the D&D Tavern and they had a live stream up on a big screen that was great (no lag or delay), and had a window in bottom right showing Reggie in real life with his gear as well.

They also sent an email they had over 1200 people in VR. It was a "first ever" event, and they know where there few minor issues were, and will undoubtedly address them for another show.
