A friend found a postcard of the orphanage my grandmother had lived in for 10 years. I cried! It is priceless to me.

I LOVE SELLING EPHEMRA . People are too into hard goods. I love selling local vintage restaurant stuff (menus, napkins, postcards, matches, ) . I cannot tell you how many times I have sales from "my grandfather owned that bar / diner / restaurant". The best part is so much of it costs VERY LITTLE. I also love selling diaries, filled out by teens in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s.

I've been selling ephemera on eBay for close to twenty years. A few categories that do really well are vintage restaurant menus (collected for nostalgic reasons)...and sheet music. Antique photographs and photo albums do extremely well too.

Paper ephemera is not only for collectors, it's for ppl in the art community. I sell old paper and different types of ephemera on etsy and a little on ebay, to ppl who make ATCs, Mixed Media art, Junk journals, Smash books, Collage and more. It's an excellent market but a saturated one too. Great video, glad I saw it! TFS ~ L

After watching the Auction Professor and your videos it has pushed me on a path in reselling that I had no idea was a niche in collectibles. I absolutely love ephemeral goods, old handwritten letters, etc like you said it’s history. I hated history in high school, lol now I’m 48 years old with my magnifying lens going through a ton of historical postcards I bid on and Ive hit a spark in me... thanks to YouTube and the videos! Great video 😊

I recently sold an old Australian telegram for $27 plus shipping back to Australia! It was from the early 1950's and had torn areas where it had been folded. It wasn't anything of real importance, it was regarding a job opportunity, but the old graphics were quite nice. I found it in a book I bought from the Thrift store!

I like the history ephemera provides. It can help fill in the blanks historically and open our minds and eyes to things we never knew of.

Ugh! My husband worked with a coin dealer/pawn broker and someone brought in a TON of those little Victorian cards. He said they threw them away because, "No one would want them." 😭😭😭
*I did cry when he told me weeks later...

Yup. I sold several ephemera pieces. Currently have an old catalogue from a saddle manufacturer listed for $$$. And of course ephemera happily lead me down the research rabbit hole. Always fun.

Thanks Suzanne. Very interesting what all you can sell. Now everyone will start looking in old boxes from their Grandparents etc. Its fun to look at them also. I have several items from my dad and his dad's furniture store. Thanks again.

Reaching almost 800 videos I wish you created Playlists to organize them. Took weeks of searching to find this video as I recently collected a stack of vintage magazines, books, etc.

So all those old ticket stubs I saved from the 70s might be actually worth something? I have a cigar box full of them. I also have a bunch of old newspapers from the 1930s and earlier that I found in an old suitcase when I was a kid. Still have them and tried to donate them to the local college historical research years ago and they didn't want them. Just not sure how to handle them or display. Some are very fragile.
