If someone
ultimately does
get a Neuralink installed
what will
take place?

It (Neuralink) can interface basically anywhere in your brain.

So it could be something that, you know, helps cure, say, eye sight.

Like return your eyesight, even if you have lost your optic nerve type of thing.

Really?

Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Hearing obviously.

Pretty much anything that...

It could in principle fix almost anything that is wrong with the brain and it could restore limb functionality. So if you've got to...

Interface into the motor cortex and then implant that,

say that's like a microcontroller

in your muscle groups, you could then create a sort of a neural shunt that restores somebody who is a quadriplegic to full functionality.

They can walk around, be normal.

Whoa!

Yeah. So maybe slightly better.

My wife lost her eyesight due to optic nerve damage. This all stems from an auto accident 15 years ago. What a blessing it would be for her to see again.

I don’t have an optic nerve in one of my eyes and this makes me ecstatic.

I love this tech, I got something similar implanted in the central nervous system in my spine with 3 central leads with 10 primary rings per lead... Took 4 surgies over 5 years. Thank you surgeons and the team of 16 programs. Love you all Lots!!!

Amazing, Quadriplegics this would be a miracle

With my luck the battery would die when I was going to take a dookie

It could totally work but here is the problem: if you have that chip in your brain you could be tracked and controlled

Lot of respect to Elon musk. We need this technique and technology research development Humanity needs this. Machine Biology interface.

How would it successfully integrate with the brains natural design and systems exactly. Let alone the entire body. I’ve always wondered…

What if it gets virus is what im wondering

until it can grow teeth back you can keep it

I understand where he's going with it but there are a lot of "ifs"... The brain is the control center of the body... So yes the concept might be possible if we had a full comprehension of how the brain works. Also if you're going to restore quadriplegia you'd have to be sure that you also restore other parts of the central nervous system that may be damaged in some but not all cases. It's also extremely dangerous technology because it should not affect regions of the brain responsible for sustaining life like heart rate and breathing or you could kill people quite literally by flipping a switch. Plus our math just isn't there, we can't rely on a computer to fix errors of another algorithm in a chip that'd be partly responsible for the way we live our lives. Create benevolent human super geniuses who can oversee complex processes that are currently beyond our abilities as a species first. 😏 Yup let's just all have "far out there" ideas and see what happens.

He literally sound like the evil version of iron man lol. He’s superior iron man and funny enough he restores daredevils vision but tell him that he’ll have to pay to keep them healed. Sound like someone else

Now that is worth the risk, of robotic military use and control of weapons.

I mean honestly I’m on the fence. It’s like ground breaking stuff that’s pretty remarkable to witness in my life time but on the other side of the coin it just seems like smart rich people playing around with technology and people just desperate enough..sorry to say. Willing to just risk it all thinking they probably have nothing to lose and all the more to gain. It’s honesty very hard to be completely confident and comfortable with this idea being the new norm.

These guys (like Elon musk) have just about endless resources, endless money, endless worker bees and people coming up with the next new thing. You can not convince me that they could not come up with something to help people walk again, see, remember…..all the brain things, with something other than an implantable computer for the BRAIN. Just wild to think if they have this intelligence, why in the world would they want to integrate AI and computer stuff everywhere.
