Elizabeth Taylor and Jackie Kennedy. They were my mom's icons. If either of them graced a magazine cover, my mom bought it. When I got to be adult, she and I developed an "in" joke that they were her best friends. I'd ask, "Hey Mom, heard from Liz lately?" and she'd say something like, "Oh, you know; she's too busy with that latest husband of hers." LOL. Seriously, though, I don't think Elizabeth Taylor got enough credit for her acting because she was just so gosh darn beautiful. And she never went through a gawky phase; she was gorgeous from infancy right up 'til she died, though she did struggle with weight in her later years.
