The bottom line is - NO ONE SHOULD BE COMPELLED TO GIVE, MARVIN. It is not scriptural. 2 Cor. 9:7. I have grown up in church, and this behavior has NEVER been demonstrated. His response is unacceptable. If the church couldn't afford to meet the budget, they should not have held the conference. Pastors tell members all day long to believe God for their needs to be meet. Yet when it comes to their needs being met, instead of believing God, they put pressure on members. And by the way, true worship is a lifestyle not just a time of giving.

If you can't afford a church event, if you cannot afford a church building, dear pastors, that's YOUR problem. Go believe that God will work it out, just like God is working it out for our bills.

This is literally church culture. I grew up in church, my parents were pastors and this is very normal and very familiar to me. There is also guilt tripping in the offering segment of the service and seeing this in a different perspective is heart breaking. I left my church in my 30’s and I am still trying to recover now in my 40’s from guilt giving. We were compelled to give to get and videos like this provide healing for me because I would rather give Biblically. That kind of mentality kept me in lack. I really wish I could share more but I don’t want this comment to be too long. Blessings yall
