Having spent a reasonable amount of time with it, it's now time for a full review of GRID Legends, this is the PC version, let's see if it's a hit or a miss.

Great game. Been having some real fun. One thing I love about GRID is how it brings the excitement of door to door, bumper to bumper racing. It really harkens back to Race Driver grid and Grid Autosport where races were exciting affairs that really got your heart pumping. I've been playing on the PS4, and one thing I find very disappointing is how Grid (2019) had support for the Thrustmaster BT display addon, this one does not.. and it also has no support for my SF1000 wheel addon.

From an Xbox player whose wheel base just took it's last breath and pretty much only having Forza 7 and PCars 3 to enjoy, GRID Legends is welcome and enjoyable. Good video.

Personally I would give the game a 9/10 and in my humble opinion it’s more than an expansion pack for GRID 2019. For the new cars and tracks I could agree, but the story mode, the race creator, the improved graphics, the new weather types like storm and snow, and the new race types like multiclass, boost gates and ramps do give this plenty of “new game feeling” for me. But I 100% agree this is what GRID 2019 should have been.

I’m a big racing game fan as well with dozens of racing games on different platforms. But the GRID series still fills in a pleasant gap in the arcade racer scene taking place on circuits instead of open worlds. Apart from Project CARS 3 or even all the way back to DriveClub I can’t really think of any other arcade circuit racing game. (I consider both GT and FM to be more simcade and not enough arcade to be compared to GRID).

Nice review.
I tried playing grid 2019 (on a controller) but there was something off with the handling for me it was not a great fun. Never finished it.
10h trials of Legends and I would say it is a solid game. Far from the one I like the most Race Driver GRID (2008), but way much better than 2019, grid 2 and better than grid autosport.

Glad they addressed the handling problem around corners from Grid 2019. That was frustrating at times. Looking forward to trying Legends out.

This is the best arcade/Sim I’ve ever played. More arcade than Sim but you definitely don’t feel the ridiculous physics you do in need for speed and others like that. Great graphics as well.

On the note of the stadium trucks, I'd love a Grid Trucks or something with them that's all about them. They're just stupid fun to drive.

I think your previous comment about having no willpower to resist new racing games set off a bit of a chain reaction amongst people on our forum. I'm glad you convinced me to shell out, this game definitely put some gameplay meat on the bare bones of the 2019 release.

Great review as always, this is a game I'll probably pick up in a few months for PC. Still pondering GT7 reviews before I determine if I make a plunge for that first.

recently got myself a Ps4 for GT7 and to brutally honest I simply can't stomach the model Polyphony has gone with. The always online aspect is total BS which is a shame for sure as I was massively hyped to play it. Grid may just be what I need in making up this disappointment. It also means I get some bonus money by ridding myself of the Ps4. Didn't like the last Grid game but hopefully they've learned

GRID Legends is pretty good in my opinion when it comes to the handling, it feels reminiscent of their DiRT games which encourages "flat out" driving. But if you're looking for a simulation motorsport racer, I'm sorry to say that GRID Legends doesn't really do that.

I agree...its an expansion pack at best. I was dissapointed at a few things. No multi round tournaments in the creator like Grid 19...Worse replay angles..very poor sound compared to G19 and poorer detail on the original G19 tracks like Havanna.

See, I would've loved to buy this game, but who the f's decision was it to release it alongside GT7 and ACC? Oh well, better for my wallet to just wait until it's basically free anyways
