The Lumix G9 is an evolution of its video-centric brother, the GH5, and is built around the needs of stills photographers, particularly those who spend time outdoors and shoot fast moving subjects.

Key features of the Panasonic G9 include:

The 200mm 2.8 with a 2x teleconverter is a 400mm f/5.6, not an 800mm f/5.6. µ4/3 has a 2x crop factor which means that it will have the same field of view as a 800mm lens on full frame 35mm film or digital, but the depth of field will also be equivalent to a 800mm f/11 lens. The way it's stated in the video is misleading, but crop factor NEVER changes actual focal length.

Great overview! The shutter button sure is sensitive, however, thanks to The Image Maven, I set up back button focus on the af/ae lock (set to AFS/AFS position) Seems to work well…✌️

Still waiting for one person with the camera to show off the G9's Continuous AF performance, this is where most believe DFD will fall short and the fact no one is showing off good results with it is very concerning.

@Park Cameras. I am a person who really is considering this camera as my first mirrorless camera. But i mainly wanna use it for normal photography, macro, nature and landscape but not so much for wildlife. Wildlife like safari, tigers, elephants and so on I mean :). Would this be a good camera for just landscapes, vacation photography, cities, persons like family events etc.? Or would it be better to look at a different camera? Is it way too much for your first mirrorless camera? because I dont wanna buy 3 models in say 2 years to upgrade my functionalities every time? and how is the weight if you carry it on a long time, lets say like a whole day around your neck?

Overall great review. I own Fuji, Panasonic, Sony and recently got rid of all my Canon bodies. This is far is one of the best. They all have their strengths but this thing is pretty much perfect.
