Had To Be The Best Fighter Ever In Boxing Because That's The Only Way One Could Dominate A James Toney Like This...

Toney liked doing that Joe Frazier duck bringing his entire torso down to avoid traffic, then come back up with a hard counter. Jones wisely would lean on him as he shifted out of the way to be almost behind Toney. You can see Toney getting very frustrated by this as the fight goes on. Great footwork.

At the time James Toney was considered one of the pound for pound best fighters in the sport and Roy just DOMINATED him.

James Toney was an absolute MONSTER and Roy Jones came in and gave him a master class in skill and finesse. I remember watching this and the first time Toney went down i said "Yeah this is over this man is outclassed"

Roy Jones was a top notch athlete. If only his style could last as long without the athleticism

At his prime Roy Jones jr was an artistic super talented specialist boxer coz he broke down a formidable expert Philly shell styled James Tony and made him look ordinary in a dominant performance

When you see the old school boxers you can see how crap the fights are these days! Back then boxers never ducked the big fights thats why these boxers are proper hall of famers

One thing is to be strong another thing is to be skillful. Roy Jones was skillful.

If RJJ retired after winning the HW title, he would of been forever mentioned in the same breath as Sugar Ray Robinson, Leonard Ali etc, fought onto too long and destroyed his legacy
Shame because in his prime, he was untouchable

A prime RJJ was the best P4P fighter of all time. Poetry in motion!

Roy Jones spent the majority of his career playing with his food.

That wobble James Tony did reminded me of the game Mike Tysons punch out when little mac would knock down the fighters. 😂

Jones and reflexes are literally one and the same thing. Incredible stuff. Tony wad a quick footed, fast handed genius himself during his career. This level of elitism isn’t around so much in this period of the sport. With the exception of maybe Terrence Crawford, really. Great boxers make the sport greater to watch🥂💪
