Thanks for sharing this excellent video. Love the music as well. As a child, I travelled on these double deck trolley buses with my dad during the l950's. We used to catch the bus at Rockdale near the station. My only other experiences riding on trolley buses since was when visiting Wellington and Auckland New Zealand during the 1970's.

Nobody will believe me, but when I lived in Rockdale in the 80s I saw a single deck trolleybus near the station (west side). I don't know how far the bus went on its route, but there were at least some overhead wires left at that time.

I travelled in the single decker trolleys as a child in the late 1940's from Dicken Avenue, Dolls Point to Kogarah . Those trips to the dentist were enlivened only by waiting for the sandstone cliff that fell to the road on the right as the bus turned into the road to Kogarah. I took reassurance from the purple flowered creeper that fell down that cliff side. I would be grateful if anyone knew the name of that creeper.
I also wonder whether anyone else was fascinated by the electric blue flash of light that crackled when the poles passed some contact point on the lines overhead.

Nowadays you wouldn't find a genuine aussie in those suburbs

The bus shelter on the corner of Russell ave and Clareville ave is familiar.

Alas, too fast to give a chance to take in the streetscapes properly
