So I posted some previews of Aphrodite's part on TikTok, and it got taken down XD Maybe I'm safe here?

I am actually still working on the concepts for all three gods. For Athena, I don't know, I probably will draw her more like an owl though I do like the idea of her serpent depictions, like her serpent cape in the ancient arts...

Ares gets a lot of bad rep in mythology (mostly because those cities and peoples who actually likes him didn’t write stuff down) but here he makes the same point Athena made.

Athena might have made all these great plans, but Ares is the soldiers god. He understands that if you don’t have the stomach for the often awful things you need to get the job done, then you get everyone killed. He’d watched the Trojan war for years and he knows how warriors and soldiers think. But Athena’s heroes are more heroic, winning victories and kingdoms, and suffer tragic ends later on, while Ares’s drown cities in blood and burn them down, leaving a terrible story, but happy ending.

I love how even though Aphrodite was 100% nude I didn’t feel uncomfortable watching this at all. Her body doesn’t feel sexually pleasing to look at, just nude. It was a “good” mix between being nude but not being sexual. Great job balancing that.

Ugh I love every little minuet detail of this! The dove censor, Ares and Athena shapeshifting, Aphrodite and Ares getting steamy at the end! Ugh I love all of this!

I really like how Athena and Ares' designs mirror each other; it shows that, despite their disdain for each other, they're both aspects of the same thing in war (Ares more the dirty, on the ground combat, Athena more clean, at a distance tactics and strategy)

I love the little wobble athena does when she turns back into her smaller form, along with this you're really great at animating the cool, dramatic parts that make me want to rewatch thos over and over, and the amount of references in this animatic are amazing, a prime example of an artist who pays attention to the little details

I love how despite them being gods, they still experience human emotions and get defensive like Athena did when someone they care about is insulted or verbally attacked. I mean it sounds obvious that they would feel emotions like mortals, but when you think about it, they're immortal and they see so many humans live and die for centuries. So, to become attached to a mere human and even call them a friend is really cool and also creates a connection between humans and gods

I like the little time stop thing, cause it kinda implies Athena has some of Kronos's power but its on the level of a trick for gods hence why Ares calls it that. With the sort of thinking of, oh yeah neither of them were born when the Six children of Kronos over threw him and the other titans

I'm honestly fascinated by Aphrodite's protest being about Odysseus' *mother*.
Like, yes it's a perspective about love, but her domain isn't generally considered to be much to do with familial/parental love; it's specifically romantic/erotic love (although granted, some of the erotes handle that angle and she sort of functions as their 'manager', and she is a mother herself...).
Honestly, if I'd had to guess, I would have predicted Aphrodite being angry over Odysseus rejecting both Circe and Calypso's seductions in this version of the story (since loyalty within marriage isn't really Aphrodite's concern vs Hera)...

Still, I guess we can make the argument that this might actually be why she's willing to capitulate without much argument in the end. Whereas Ares is just happy with a threshold level of promised bloodshed.
That and Athena flat-out terrified them both here... Yeah, sorry Ares, your one snake against Athena's aegis-ful of them is like bringing a knife to a gunfight...

And man, I can just imagine how Athena is gritting her teeth and FORCING herself to plead to Aphrodite (who is kind of the cause of the whole thing in the first place re' the golden apple - Which Athena ALSO wanted...) and then Ares shows up and after a few words of his, she's just like "Ok, nvm, fuck being nice".

That said:

Oh huh, NOW suddenly you're all for friendship?

"A broken heart can mend"
Athena, the woman is already DEAD from it, I think we're past mending this one...
