OK I get it. Card is more rigid so stands alone as the journal cover. But if your printer will not process heavier paper, and you need to use a lighter or thinner paper, the second method can be used. When I created a petite gift journal by another designer, I felt the 67 pound cardstock was too flimsy to hold all the pages, pockets and ephemera (seed packets, flowers, book tags, teabags, ribbon, buttons) suggested by the kit. So I glued 110 pound cardstock panels to the front and back covers and the spine. Your shown method is much better, I think. Thanks for sharing your techniques. 😍
