In this first episode on “The Particular Examination of Conscience and the Dominant Defect” By Fr. Miguel Fuentes, Br. Andy Barth explains the method and purpose of the particular exam. First described in detail by Saint Ignatius of Loyola, this method of self-examination has been used by many of the saints throughout the centuries in order to concretize their daily efforts towards growing in virtue and rooting out sin.

The full book is available in print here:

This book on the Particular Examination is the first book in an entire series called the Virtus Series, which are dedicated to examining the particular virtues, vices and moral situations that every Christian must engage with as they answer the universal call to holiness. Many of them are being translated into English from the original Spanish and are available on the publishing website of the Institute of the Incarnate Word, IVE Press.
