I remember this storm like yesterday... very terrifying day too. I was in school and it was loud. The damage was crazy.

I remember driving home from work during this in Lakewood. The noise was insane. The hail was eating through my back window and sky roof in my car and cracked my front wind shield. The roads had like 4 inches of golf ball sized hail covering them it almost looked like snow. By the time I got to parking and ran home, my arms, legs, head, and back had giant welts from getting pelted by the ice. It felt like a biblical plague

Once my town had a severe thunderstorm with 100 mph wind gusts. There was hail 1/4 inch in diameter. Today there were downpours that were coming and going. None of them had lightning. But almost every downpour had 1/4 inch hail pouring down along with the rain. Why do minor downpours and severe thunderstorms here in Connecticut produce hail of the same size?

We had a storm like that back in the mid to late 90s. Baseball size hail. It destroyed everything!! Everyone on my block lost their homes. All crops got destroyed, any animals that didn't find or have shelter were killed, pine trees got the sap beat out of them and they eventually died, cars damaged, and looked as if we got 5 inches of snow when it was over. Also had a tornado involved. It blew me and my mom into the ditch trying to get over to the neighbors house. We couldn't get out so we had a better chance staying in the car as all the windows busted out. Glass went everywhere! It was scary. We even had our little dog along. It was scared too

We cant make strong durable undestructable roof shingles that can stand up to hail?

If you're on the road when it hails, rush to the nearest tree, or gas station roof, or car wash stall, to avoid your car getting smashed up..

One thing nice about living in Florida is that we don't have hail storms. Hurricanes yes Hail no!
