I grew up in the UK in a farming community and then roughly thirty years ago we left the UK and only recently took the nationality of our adopted country, The Netherlands. While the statistics do suggest that a large number of farmers were persuaded to vote for brexit, it was not significantly higher than some parts of the UK. However that does not make a good news story and nor does saying that 75% of British people living abroad did or would have voted remain, yet the media still drag out little Englanders living in Spain some of whom were the exception and now regret their vote (or not) to leave the EU.

But I see brexit from the other side of the fence. None of the major parties in the UK have expressed sincere regret about brexit and some are still harping on about how bad the EU is and how undemocratic it is. All lies of course but the result is that we are not seeing the truth coming from politicians which is that people in the UK, including farmers, were often misled into believing that the EU was bad for them.

So given that these insults to the EU are still defended or ignored by British politicians, my question is why should we wish to have such a belligerent group of politicians trying to regain access to our markets? Many of our sectors have benefitted from the exit of the UK and now face lower competition, would you want to undo those benefits? I seriously think your focus needs to be in getting UK politicians to actively address the lies they fed to the people. Get politicians that are not tainted by the exceptionalism that lead to brexit but instead ones that actively seek to cooperate with their neighbours.

Another great piece of reporting, thank you, all to often I have heard Liz Webster being talked down to, talked over, even ridiculed, great to hear this passionate lady get her factual story over, it needs to be heard, unfortunately I do not hold out too much hope for a positive future for British farming, but then that’s Brexit for you, anyone seen any positives yet, Brexit positives, No, of course not!

We can dig for victory, great isn’t it! Regardless of how the farmers voted and the numbers would be interesting (i saw a figure of 58%), they are a major conservative supporters so we reap what they sowed. Good video.

Anyone that voted leave in 2016 was naive, gullible and easily fooled. Anybody that still supports it today is just plain thick. 😂

Brexit was done by and for millionaires and billionaires. They eat in rich restaurants. Common people, food supply farming and such never crossed their mind.

Liz is a one woman army, she has done more to highlight the plight of farmer's than the whole of the political establishment. Well done Liz. Great job.

As long as ten years to rejoin ? Far too long a time for the UK not to undergo unprecedented recession.

Where do we stand if there are successful criminal prosecutions relating to the events around Lemming Thursday?

Making a colossal mistake is one thing, but expecting those same people to admit it after all this time and clear evidence is quite another. Can't be their fault, it wasn't implemented properly and/or enemies foreign and domestic are thwarting the puritan path of isolation.

How about making the EU want the UK to rejoin? As of now i doubt the pros outweight the cons.

Back in 2003 i worked in Clarks Shoe Factory then it closed down and moved to Pakistan.
I saw this with C.H. Brannam Ltd pottery a factory that employed hundreds and closed down. I saw this with Shapland & Petter who were architectural doorset manufacturers who closed down. People like Andrew Marr is a Liar and him John Major who said “I think it would be chaotic and damaging and I think the people who would suffer most would be the everyday man and woman in the street.” no it was not Brexit that did this as this was people like him who did it in the past as i was growing up to be working age over many years all i saw was my town go down hill slow and then sudden and why should the BBC Andrew Marr Show or anyone else care in London.

It Was not Brexit no this chaotic damage was from him and people voted as the damaging effect was from him and Tony Blair and Labour party over the last 3 or 4 decades i can name all these large employers factories who employed hundreds of people that are gone so many in the town i am in i have lost count, i would talk to others around the UK who said the same i can name 7 Textiles Factorys that use to be in my town when i left School.

With people like him in power it was always a decline and then in 2008 i saw it hit harder the town i live in the 1990s the or the change in attitude of employers to their workers treating people like a product, these employment agencies keeping people on temporary contract so your a slave as they cream money from your hourly rate this country is full of liars in the media who do not care about your wealth or wellbeing in this feudal system.

The town i live in the local economy was so busy on Thursday to Sunday night people going out eating and drinking in the pub and that is gone, it is dead now just more housing going up on old factory sites for this Ponzi scheme of the UK is to push the Population up and tax them more, so you work for Globalist companys like Tescos or Asda and Amazon.

The Everyday man and woman in the street has been suffering for Decades because of these London Elite I was told this when i first started working in 1992 from people in Factorys who said they have less money to spend and had to work over time, people who post these Videos have never had a real Job on their feet for 40 - 60 hours a week.

The decline in productivity in the UK over the last 3 or 4 decades is because of people like this Prime Minister who let areas decline because all that mattered was that London bubble for them, i have lost count of the factorys that i saw close down since 92 when i left school.

I know for a fact anyone who blames Brexit knows nothing about the UK. Thank you for voting for Bexit and beliving in this country i hope it goes bankrupt first to teach peolple the true scam that has gone on, we need to start from a blank slate.
I hate London and its Elites like this, i love you those who voted for Brexit the normal people real British who i have talked to who know the truth. Back in 2003 i worked in Clarks Shoe Factory then it closed down and moved to Pakistan.

You do realise we can still import food from the EU?

You can't just go back into the Single Market, or into the Single Market and Customs Union, other than through EU membership. It's not multiple choice. Joiners should not be repeating this nonsense.

My hope is for a Labour victory and a plan to rejoin the EU. I know Sunak is a crook going back many years and his crimes continue with the latest bribe from Shell. I have 2 farms and I'm fed up with subsidising London and the South East.

You couldnt buy British beef in Europe before Brexit. I have been trying for over 20 years!
Name specific companies in Europe where British offal is or has been processed like you claimed in this interview.
We have had Set-aside, Milk quoters, trees planted, taking good productive land out of production. We grow crops for energy not food.
Do you fail to recognise what i have pointed out as truth?
Farmers in general vehemently detest the eu.
Listen up Lizz!!
