Slim and his wife's hearts were dedicated to Jesus Christ. They bought a home in early 50's in Florida, named it Woodpecker Paradise.
Through the 60's his music didn't resonate in the U.S. They then spent many years in England where they sold more records than the Beatles. The U.S 1970's late night T.V. woke their home country. Still lived in there Florida home when they passed. Were great people

Slim Whitman was one of my Mam's favourite singers along with Jim Reeves and Hank Williams they bring back happy memories of childhood when me and my siblings would listen to LP records which my dad bought home from his many voyages abroad as he was a sailor another favourite singer of my parents was Marty Robbins all great singers no longer with us 😢

For my beautiful dad who passed away on 25 March and my beautiful mum who passed away two days after his funeral. They were devoted slim fans and so am I 💔His voice and music will live forever 🌹🙏🏻

Mmm all of Slim Whitman's songs are all in the Mormon Song book which I've heard sung at church on a Sunday and I've never listen to this very fine gentleman sing before this last month or so but OMGOSH now I'll listen to him sing any day thanks to who every introduced this singer to me his gospel songs brings tears to my eyes not because I'm sad but because his voice and singing touches that soft spot of mine
