6502 Microprocessor Training Board from 1982 - (PWJ119)

Показать описание
This is something that was used in schools and electronic labs for learning to program the 6502 microprocessor. It was built by Thaler AG in Germany, a company that still exists. It's name is CT-6502 or CT-65 for short.

In 1989 I began to work with microprocessors with the board like this. But it was based on Z80 processor. It was a miracle, a dream for 15 years old boy. It was 32 years ago (crying)

Wow that takes me back - I remember programming on a Rockwell AIM 65 back in the day which even had a thermal printer onboard!

A nice trainer and the documentation is just right... Just give me a memory map, monitor listing and set us loose on a 6502. Thanks for making this video.

As it origins from my year of birth, I can only conclude that my father did not spend time on learning how to program a 6502.

Nice video :)

Reminds me of my studies mid 90ties. We had an 80C51 board with a dot matrix display. I had loads of fun programming it in assembler.

We had these at college. I think it took about an hour to write hello on the display. About 1988 I think. 🙂

That board is great. Reminds me of my first trainer 6800

Holy cow, that looks like the "Computer" we used to "learn" Assembler with. That Computer was built into a Cigar Box and used a Z80 Processor if I remember correctly.

LDA# ...aach, memories of machine code "monitor", when an assembler was a luxury....

Does anyone remember the MicroProfessor (tm), which looked similar but was Z80 based? You could add loads of little peripherals and do fun electronic control projects, just like wot the yoof of today do with their little Arduino's & Raspberry PIs? I think the uProf was made in Taiwan, or somewhere around there.

How is the background clock and the live update of the memory readout implemented? Timer and Interrupt handler?

First one I Messed around with like this was an "ELF II"

Do you have any recommendations for other basic 6502 projects or boards (preferably with English documentation)?
A lot of people familiar with these older machines say "there are lots of other sources, " but in my experience (as a younger hobbyist since just 2014), it isn't so easy to find this information, at least not in a format that is manageable.
I picked up a few Z80, 68k, and 6502s' weeks ago. I have found a few references for Z80's already but not as much info for the other two. Well... the 6809 is rather extensively detailed in the second edition of The Art of Electronics, but it is done in the typical academic verbose language of that publication. I've come across several "link dump" personal type websites with far more information than anyone can handle without being overwhelmed. Usually half or more of the linked content is broken as well.
I'm mostly looking for any references that are intentionally designed for someone that just wants to casually learn assembly and hardware level computing without the need to undertake a massive research and prerequisite reading challenge in order to follow, and info that doesn't ask me to spend $50+ on what I can buy and breadboard for less than $5. My whole reason for playing with simple stuff like this is because these are cheap, simple, and the MPU isn't hidden inside a 600+ page datasheet like an ATmega328 and others I've messed with.

Thanks for the upload ;)

8:38 Not enter key but examine key. Examine stands for reading the memory content.

Would have been nice to have seen the recording in Audacity or something so we could see the waveform, otherwise cool vid!

It is amazing the lack of decoupling. Are the blue caps tantalum?

Can I please get a copy of that sample you showed in the video? I want to try to put it inside some music...

Wow, this is great! Are they still making/selling these?
