ToT i'm so here for mermaidcore getting more popular I wasn't ever able to fully commit to cottagecore but I would 100/10 percent drop a ton of money to transform my closet

Thanks to this, I realised I’m a mermaidcore girl at heart. Like. Pastels, water patterns, marine related, mermaid dresses, silks, shells. Ahhhh!!! Now I’m even more hyped to add more! 🥰🩵💙🩷💚🖤

Being involved in the mermaid/selkie lifestyle subculture for a few years, there are a few youtubers to check out if you really want to get more into that side of things. People like Mermaid Melissa, Nerdmaid Faith, Mermaid Zelda, Mermaid Minnow, and Courtney Mermaid are all good places to look. A lot of them also make and sell accessories that would fit into the look, like mermaid leggings and bracers. As for the selkie side of things as a related fashion subset, I'd recommend a palette of darker greens and blues, as well as grey scale, and Celtic and Nordic motifs, and seal imagery. I'd also recommend more wool material, as well as wraps and shawls.

I grew up loving The Little Mermaid movie and when I was 13 I discovered this shoujo anime called Mermaid Melody which came out in the early 2000s, and I became so obsessed with mermaids (and Japan lol), but seeing this aesthetic as a 27 year old makes me feel really nostalgic!
