Comstock was never really christian. He only got baptized in an attempt to try to forgive himself for his past mistakes. He used Elizabeth's powers to make himself look like some holy prophet so he could get followers. By looking into the future and saying he got these visions from God. So you can't say Comstock was religious. He wasn't. Never was. He used Christianity as a way to control others and to accept his mistakes in an unhealthy way. Instead of regretting what he did on wounded knee, he embraced it and became proud of it.

Similar to how Fontaine uses Socialism to gather a following in Rapture. His goal was never tp help the citizens of Rapture, but to use them to take Ryan down and gain power.

Comstock isn't Christian. He made a whole new religion. He never once mentions Christianity or jesus. He is the prophet of his own religion.

As a christian myself, I'm glad this happened coz imo i absolutely found infinite one of the most interesting stories of gaming and i never will be offended when video games or movies negatively portray christians as long as it's good coz being real, we would be silly as Christians to deny we ever have bad apples

See, this is how devs show work together. Talk, sort it out, instead of mushing it in passive agressivly and crunch it out and wait for release so you can now sneak to journalists how you were opressed and create a scandal. Those sandal dev types make me sick. Talk it throught and confront that shit on the spot.

Surprisingly wholesome for a game that takes 20 paragraphs to explain the ending

it shows how much depth and reason was behind the character to be like what he was. and explaining it made the dev really see the vision. man, Kevin was a great one

I think this is an important conversation; I think a lot of people interpret the game as being anti-religion when in fact it’s against people using religion to further their own personal gain. I’m not religious myself but one of my friends is and he was the one who got me into the Bioshock series in the first place with Infinite, but that may never have happened if they didn’t make necessary changes to the character. I imagine in development he was either overtly Christian and that was his main motivation, or it wasn’t as clear that he wasn’t Christian.

So higher up and an employee sit down talk openly And actually make something better. That is a one in a billion in this day and age.

He’s basically an alternate sci-fi universe version of Mormonism

So Comstock was even more of a ridiculous caricature before?

What ever he did I thank em cause I love how I can’t tell even if comstack is bad booker he genuinely did want good but was outrageously gray at times just~ but booked seemed good but sometimes his actions are very selfish and misleading and very careless and heartless. Good way to show they are the same and both are very morally grey and hard say WHOS truly bad and who’s truly good

Always found it interesting there’s no chapels aside from the welcome area and no crosses anywhere aside from a painting of a cemetery. Not about Comstock aside from baptism was Christian.

I'm surprised the Christian didn't call it "demonic" to upset, offend, disagree or prove him and his religion wrong, all while being incredibly pretentious, pretending to be open minded but being dead set on being right and CONSTANTLY making conversational stalemates that he thinks a win is a win, a stalemate is a win and a loss is akin to cheating. Hell, I used to be one of them, but they don't take too kindly to people getting a different meaning out of a scripture, or questioning why an all loving God needed help figuring out which children to murder, or he was such an insufferable control freak that he annihilated an entire city of sinners just because they were comfortable living without him, and then he turned one of his missionaries to salt just for looking back. How about an all knowing, all powerful God that had the power to change everything without making his interference too noticeable? How many people died because he wouldn't do his job right and then punished people for pointing it out? This would all make perfect sense if there was no God and the Bible was a collection of lies. Then it would make sense. But the truth is, there is no God and there is no afterlife. This is all we get. We weren't even supposed to get this. Turns out, some crazy space dust mixed with water makes life after millions of years. That's it. And how do I know there's no afterlife? Someone precious to me lost herself. She overdosed and died. Narcan brought her back. She told me what it was like when she was in the hospital. Nothingness. Emptiness. You just stop existing. Everything you are just goes away. Like getting knocked out. To everyone else, 3 hours had passed while you were unconscious. To you, you go down, everything goes black and your ears ring and fade, then you open your eyes and get back up. Death is like that, but without opening your eyes and getting back up. After hearing this, it made me more appreciative of my life and now I use it to help people. That girl I was talking about? I helped her kick heroine. It took a long time, and I got no help from my Christian family who instead said she was a lost cause and to stay away from her or she'd pull me in. I yelled at them. I told them to quit hiding behind their God to free them from obligation to being a good human being, and quit blaming everything bad on a devil so they never have to be held accountable for their actions! If they think this is beyond the scope of what their almighty can do, then put your belief is something more powerful than your God, me! I'll actually DO something because I won't listen to someone crying for help and do nothing! That's something a Christian would do, not me! It took a long time. It's been 6 years. She's been clean for 3. When I found her, she had given up, but I knew the spark in her. I knew what kind of person she was. She deserved to have her life back, and if no one else was going to show her how amazing she truly was, then I would stop at nothing to get her her life back! She now owns her own business. She goes to drug counseling and therapy. She's getting all the help she needs and she's doing a great job! She's happy now. She likes who she is. Away from addiction and toxic relationships. She's free now. And God didn't do that, nor did a Christian. I did.

This game had allot of missed opportunities, it was alright wasn't the best but was alright, booker and Elizabeth had allot of missed opportunities as characters and there could've been multiple endings like 1 and 2 did like joining the Vox Populi, killing or sparing Slate could've had more significance etc, but overall visually is beautiful but it struggles in some areas

Let's be real Comstock couldn't do any worse to how anyone sees christians than the crusaders did during the crusades. The ones who have made christians look the worst was past christians.
