If I had to rank my favorite requiems I think my top 3 would be
1. Mozart
2. Verdi
3. Dvorak

Others just don't "touch" me the way these three "touch"

I love you dear. If angels don’t show maybe some humble humans will.

What a piece, sunning ! This channel is a true treasure trove ! By the way, may I suggest the following work : Jozef Elsner's (Chopin's teacher) romantic Passion (op. 65), what do you think ?

14:43 - strange overtone (?) producing a "C" ie 9th of Bb chord. Or, wrong note? Sounds like a bassoon...

There's a reason why this requiem isn't famous. Dvorak obviously doesn't understand the requiem in it's entirety :
- In the Tuba Mirum, the trumpet solo albeit being long, feels forgettable and out of place, but most importantly he decides to go with heavenly flutes and a soprano voice to showcase the lyrics
- He decides to include Pie Jesu twice : once in the Lacrimosa, one by itself: and it's completely useless.
- Also the Lacrimosa is not meant to be something frightening here, maybe should have saved it for elsewhere.
- The Graduale is not part of the original mass, and although I acknowledge this is my own opinion here, but again I feel it's a useless contribution to the whole pieces.

There are obviously some beautiful moments (particularly the Dies Irae and the end of Agnus Dei) but as a whole it feels boring and unoriginal. Effectively in the requiem aeternam the beginning is very similar to Verdi's requiem.
