I like this theory. Darth Plagueis is my favorite SW book also! Snoke continuing Hego Damask's experiments and accidentally creating Rey. I'm so excited to learn more new canon.

When you said the thing about Luke finishing what Vader started in regards to Snoke being Palpatine, it made me think how cool it would be if Snoke was Palpatine and Kylo Ren meant that in killing Snoke, he would finish what Vader started. That would be a really cool twist.

Old rival of palpatine? Apprentice to Plagueis? What other Sith lord was in the prequels, though? Obviously, if there was another apprentice, he would have still been around...manipulating events to sew the seeds of the Jedi's destruction along with ol' Sheev...and quite possibly also sewing the seeds of Palpy's demise as well....but nobody fits that

I seem to remember a few things...

Anakin, the one who would be Palpatine's demise...was found on tatooen. In TPM, they would have never found little oprhan Ani if they never landed there...and what caused them to land there? *The hyperdrive*....why did the hyperdrive go?, , ., ,

I love the theory! The idea of Snoke having beef with Palpatine- harboring hate and bitterness during both the original and prequel trilogies, and then rising as the Supreme Leader of the First Order... is so cool to think about. I especially like the idea of Snoke furthering Plagueis' work and learning how to achieve immortality through essence transfer (and hopefully he's planning to utilize Ben Solo's body).

I like this theory much better than the "Snoke is Plageuis" stuff. But personally, I don't need Snoke to be attached in that way to the original trilogy or prequel stories. I'm perfectly fine with him being a new character. What I'm really intrigued by is the idea of him being somehow connected to or a part of the Dark Side presence from the unknown regions. In a way that links him to the past, since that presence was calling out to Sidious, but it also allows the filmmakers and storytellers to shape their own mythology about the Dark Side and the Force generally. Either way, December can't come fast enough! I can't wait for this film.

This kinda sounds like what Plagueis' master, Darth Tenebrous did. He had a second apprentice named Darth Venamis who he planned to pit up against Plagueis to see who was worthy of training. But Plagueis killed Tenebrous and afterward bested Darth Venamis.

Knowing this, it makes sense Plagueis would do this because that's what his master did. Well, in the old EU anyway.

There are a lot of great theories out there, which I as a fan would accept. The challenge I have is finding a theory that brings all movies together, and that is not way off the path that the average fan will not follow. My favorite is the plagues theory thus far, makes the most sense even though it's so obviously not original.
