the production quality of this channel is really high and the format is very concise, you are doing a really good job presenting this stuff.

has answered a lot of questions for me.

I really enjoyed this board, but a killer means a better device with the SAME price.
Your car isn't a bicycle killer...

Just checked the pricing for the UK: The RPi3 is £25 delivered, the UP is £114. This isn't even a remotely sane comparison.

Mick, found your channel by accident, but VERY glad I did! Your reviews are very in-depth, humorous & give the exact information needed, so thank you for taking the time, effort & expense to do so!

I'm a former Network Engineer & although I owned both the RPi 1 & 2, I never really got into doing anything with them. Watching videos & such, I've become very interested & excited about trying this stuff out. I have zero electronic / circuit knowledge, so I'm literally starting from scratch. I just ordered an RPi 3 & thanks too this video the Up Board 4GB / 64GB starter kit. I also liked & subscribed to your channel. Thanks again for everything & take care!

Really interesting product. A bit pricey compared to the Pi, but much more suitable for a lot of applications.

One of the best product reviews I've seen so far. Great balance of technical info and humor. Great video!

mame and media server work fine with raspberry pi. in fact i have two running just those. i see no reason to triple the cost just to do the same thing

Thank you for the review. The fact that the Raspberry Pi has an ARM SoC, always leaves desires for more software. I am so getting this thing.

Again, thank you!

I'm glad there's competition in the RPi space. Competition is always a good thing. Plus, this thing being able to run Windows might give it a chance. Unfortunately the price pushes it out of competition with the Raspberry Pi. $40 is just about impulse-buy territory. $90 for the base model Up Board means you better have something in mind for it.

Regardless, cool piece of kit and I hope the competition and innovation never stops.

Love the pacing of the video and the tons of raw info pumped out. I'm not that concerned that the comparison to the Pi 3 is out of range as far as money goes and it's not clickbait because he frames it with a question mark. Thanks Mick! Keep up the good work.

You really can't compare this to the Pi 3 - The x5 cpu gets Passmark score of about 1700 points, which puts it in the range of one of the early quadcore cpus from the late 2000's.

Thanks Mick.Your reviews are spot on an much appreciated. I was a C.h.i.p. backer so I am keen to see you break it down from a makers perspective.

Ah it's $89 so nearly 3 times as much as the Pi 3, I don't think you be seeing it's obituary any time soon.

the dyson hair dryer would do a nice job at cooling
your son made me visit, he knows a very good friend of mine
often heard about the raspberry pi on 2GB, never knew about this kickstarter one

The benefits are outstanding although I note the price and lack of internal wifi and bluetooth (extra cost) and applicability as a full computer, like with it's own display and keyboard/mouse, which is more cost. There are different types of people. Hard-core computer types want more power to do more things. But even some of us like the feeling of elegant minimization. For example, a personal VPN on a $9 C.H.I.P. has more meaning than the same on a $35 RPI (ok, , you don't need the wifi RPI, so less) or $100 UPB, if it does the job. And look at how many maker projects are headless. I can't wait to see your take on the C.H.I.P.
