Let's just be honest with ourselves people. Disney IS Weyland Yutani and there's nothing we can do about it anymore

Current Disney is just not interested in releasing anything that they don't have total control over, from pre to post production. That's why so many excellent looking Blue Sky projects got canned, and it's just really depressing. What a waste of money it was for Disney to buy Fox.

I'd love for it to be released but the direction of Disney these days is making me think more and more that they are just buying up excellent franchises to junk or hide them

Disney should just release it, it would have an audience for sure and keeping it hidden is simply a waste and a middle finger to all the people who worked on it.

I wasn't aware that there was such a thing as quality control at Disney.

As a completist, the fact that this full anime exists and is just...sitting there collecting dust for no reason...gives me anxiety. More than that, it's just infuriating. Just more proof that studios have no idea what fans really want. The most intriguing thing about the plot is that it takes place way farther into the future. I've always wanted to see a story post-Alien: Resurrection, and apparently it exists, and none of us will ever see it. I wonder if there is a way to get Disney's attention (a petition or something?) so they know how big the demand is.

This could have been epic. This is up with there with the Neill Blomkamp film when it comes to tragically missed opportunities.

Cartoon Network had the rights to the Clone Wars animated series, but Disney eventually got the rights to it years after acquiring the Star Wars IP, so never say never I guess,

The Machiko storyline from Dark Horse is amazing. It even has the "strong independent woman" trope who happens to be Japanese! But it's not shoehorned like so many other storylines are today. It's a strong independent woman that no one questions because that's how her character develops throughout the story. And the payoff is terrific. The fact that no one can just simply do it is mind-boggling. Like you said, the storyboard is all there and ready to go. It's already half in the bag. And it's an amazing story. But no, everyone wants to come in and reinvent the damn wheel rather than taking something that the fans truly do love and actually putting it into a different media. And Disney ruins everything anyway. Hopefully, the Machiko storyline will be a passion project for someone and will finally get the attention it deserves. And in my opinion, the cybernetic predator sounds absolutely ridiculous. It sounds like it's cut from the same cloth as the Predalian which the majority of fans also thought was ridiculous and stupefying.

I’d honestly do terrible things to see “Aliens” in the style of an 80’s OVA, I know that has nothing to do with the matter at hand but just wanted to say it.

I think the director who made the AvP anime was Shinji Aramaki. He directed Harlock: Space Pirate (2013) and directed an episode and was creative advisor for HALO Legends, according to Wikipedia. He has made a lot of futuristic scifi cybernetic/android anime in the past and is perhaps most know for working heavily on the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex tv series in the early 2000s and co-directed GitS 2045. Since the interview mentioned a predator with cybernetics, and all other information I found, I cant think of who else it could be.

I really wish we get this realeased. It would also be really cool to get Alien/Predator and AVP animated movies based on the comics much like DC does with they're universe.

The original AvP comic (novelised as 'Prey') is absolutely *the best* AvP story ever, and Dashande (Broken Tusk) is *the best* Yautja ever, and why it wasn't turned into the first AvP movie is ridiculous!

This absolutely breaks my heart man. The original AVP movies underperformed because of some of the creative choices. Like setting it in modern day on earth🤦‍♂️

The concept and brand are still amazing and have huge potential but these people running things never want to try something unique or for that matter use the endless supply of stories and ideas introduced in the comics! The formula they follow for the films hasn’t changed. Playing it safe is the only thing they’re willing to do.

An animated series is a great way to test the boundaries of storytelling and it won’t cost them much if it fails! But if it succeeds it offers a whole new avenue for the franchise. Afterward they might be more confident with films again rather than just doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. It’s literally insane. Here’s hoping AVP comes the screen properly this time!

You mentioned it's the anime director that made a segment of the Halo Legends anthology and the Captain Harlock CGI film; it's Shinji Aramaki.

I still have hope that Disney will release the animated AvP series one day. Even if it's strictly to DVD, Disney is all about money and money is what they crave.

I've been wanting an Aliens vs Predator Anime series for the longest time. It just feels like it would work especially if they do stuff similar to the dark horse comics or even the arcade and original two games.

The anime filter on the characters from the films has me rolling rn 😂

Because Disney doesn't want an alien Predator shared universe, they are the ones that got the avp table top war game shut down

This should have been released years ago, there's so many talented animators it's crazy, look what Netflix did with Castlevania! Put in the right hands with production and talented writers. AVP and other spin off's would be a gold mine, sometimes you've just got to step up 💪
