Just got 10 hours a week of freelancing in React to help while I build my IoT startup. Great tips. Uncle Stef is the Man!

The five points
1 small clients
2 at least 5 clients in rotation
3 don't spend too much time writing your proposal, also, you may use 33%(upfront payment), 33%(payment in alpha), 33%(payment when the final product is done) rule.
4 well defined contract
5 bring in your first version of the software as fast as possible, it doesn't have to be bug free

Everything you say is absolutely true... I am currently experiencing point number 2 this guy is just dragging a project for over a month, I just implemented the 33% split on a new project, and got it from one of your videos, as for point 5 I really wish I had seen this earlier it makes complete sense... instead, I spend time making clean code first but it never too late to implement. You are really awesome @Stefan thanks for making life for the new freelancers better with your wisdom

I like the idea of Thirds. One-third for the deposit, one third after the first draft, and one third once the project is finished.

Small businesses are an absolute nightmare to do any type of custom development for. Mainly because they don't have the technical knowledge to understand and define what they are asking for, but also because they usually don't have the budget either. It's not uncommon for these businesses to expect you to be grateful for being offered a budget that pays you less than minimum wage. 🤣

The best option for selling to these businesses is to offer them something that's almost completely an off the shelf solution. Something that's based on no code or easy configuration.
