Breathtaking mirage in the deserts of Xinjiang

The breathtaking mirage of a lake surface appeared Sunday in the vast desert of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Tourists who witnessed the natural event were awed.

I've seen one on a dead end street. I thought it had rained the day before, so i rode my bike up to it, and when i did, it disappered. I was so confused back then but yeah lol

Solar radiation in the form of light strikes through the angular atmosphere, reducing the frequency peak of the photon.

The photons of a particular angular moment are actually not striking the ground, but are refracted upward to travel perpendicular along the ground.

What we see on the ground is photons with the information from the sky but no information from the ground leaving the ground to reach your lens.

Also, that particular light could be considered "older" than the light you see identifying the land mass.
