Kershaw Barricade 8650 Rescue Knife is a value-priced rescue knife. A carbide glass breaker is built into the butt end. Built-in cutter will cutthrough seat belts and cord quickly and easily.

The blade steel is 8Cr13MoV, which can take and hold a sharp edge, yet resharpens easily. Kershaw’s skilled heat treatment brings out the best in this top-value steel.

The modified clip-point blade opens one-handed with SpeedSafe assisted opening and the flipper. For convenient carry, it also features a deep-carry pocket clip that enables the knife to ride securely low in your pocket.

I work as an EMT in the city. I'm not a good guy at taking care of or sharpening knives. This knife is my EDC.

Another option in this category is the Benchmade Auto Triage. It's a bit more expensive but it's a high-quality American-made tool. I've been carrying one daily for about a year now and love it.

its amazing how often you use a knife when you start carrying one. The Kershaw Leek is a great EDC

Everyone should have this knife . It's not too big for edc and THAT is where it needs to be unless you're planning on making kershaw rich. Not pretty but gets the job(s) done. They should've demoed the seat belt cutter and the glass breaker.

I just unboxed the Tan one I ordered. Good looking knife, I like the belt cutter has two blades & the tip is carbide. The blade is sharp and solid with almost no play at all. the problem is that it's so stiff, it's all I can do to open it with the flipper, forget about the thumb stud. I oiled it up which helped a little, loosened the screw until I got side to side play in the blade, but no real improvement, tightened it back up just enough to eliminate the play. I opened & closed it until I got a sore finger, which seemed to help some. It may be me, but it seemed the blade would bind back up after three or four times. I hope I can solve this because I really like this knife.

At first I´m really shocked that you are drinking from cans while having a tap. :) One serious question: Is it possible to open a bottle with the belt cutter on that knife? Greetings from Germany!

I have trouble carrying a knife with the window breaker because it pokes a lot. Any suggestions?

Use the blade to cut a seat belt strap. The cutter is for rope.

Third the price, effective glass breaker, virtually identical as far as specs including assisted opening (which seems to be the rage these days). Only negative is a less effective seatbelt cutter as it only has the one blade, you can use the normal blade anyways so not much of a drawback, save some cash if you can be just as effective. That being said I wouldn't mind a kershaw 😉

Too bad that Kershaw does not make it with a Manual KVT Ball Bearing system instead of Speed-Safe! Even Kershaw admits that it will eventually fail due to the fragile Torsion Bar!
