This video is an in-depth comparison between the Orion mPulse 30 and the new Orion PJ, leading Permanent Jewelry arc pulse micro welders made by Sunstone Engineering, in Utah, USA.

I will compare the following differences:
- Packaging and Weight
- Physical Appearance and Control Settings
- Price
- Accessories and Attachments (Stylus and Ground)
- Power Setting and Welding Capabilities (with demonstration of welding different jump ring thicknesses and earring post)

I demonstrate what you can and cannot weld with each respective model, the ideal setting, and what you can do to further reduce the power if you have the mPulse 30, and how you can weld thicker rings if you have the PJ.

Then I will offer my opinion as to which welder would be best given the business you are operating and what you may want to do with the welder in the future.

This videos includes Orion mPulse 30 Pulse Arc Welding System

I have been trying to see the value difference between these two machines but the mPulse with a wider range of power and cheaper is more value than PJ. The only advantage of PJ over Mpulse is the low power mode where you can weld very fine metals, which is not common to use. One would think the PJ would be cheaper and smaller for its lower power range (half of mPulse), maybe it is the older technology.

Thank you for the fantastic review. You answered the questions I was looking for. I tried to register for your website, but I live in the US, and it required a "province" even for the US, which is not possible. I ended up going with the Helix via Pepetools because I need to use it for thicker gauge materials in my shop. Hopefully, I will be able to upgrade to the Orion soon. Thanks for the great information!

loved your video, lot of useful information. Thank you. There are two versions of mpulse on the website, one says "pulse arc welder" but I cant find any differences. Are there any differences between the two?
