Tolerate four out of thirty six? Doesn’t seem that good

This is the aerospace equivalent of OceanGate.

More engines = more things to maintain, and go wrong.
Also, that plane doesn't look to have good aerodynamics for gliding in case of fuel supply or control system faults. I'd prefer to be on a twin engined turboprop any day.

With a twin engine jet you can lose 1/2 the engines and still fly safely— only being able to lose 4/36 or 1/9 doesn’t necessarily seem more safe.

Is there a emergency procedure for battery fire at 5, 000 feet? 😬

Not everything that is unique one of a kind is a good thing. Look what happened to the submarine

36 engines... and it can only tolerate 4 blown ummm... Bombers had 4-6 engines they could fly with 4-6 engines blown... one will still be rotating!! Lol

So twin jet airplane can fly on one, 50%....yet your margin is what, 8%? On the plus side maybe the birds won't like the noise and will keep clear! Looking forward to seeing the mid air superchargers.
(Guess. Not a fan of leccy cars neither)

Ownership is definitely not for the casual GA pilot.. Imagine having to pay for the overhaul of 36 engines at a time…

electric plane? so its got about the flight time of the WW2 German Komet but with none of the speed, none 9f the firepower and none of the style.

also..4 of 36 fail n ur fked....thats bad lol

I sure as fk hope you don’t gotta start each engine manually 😂

No name given to search? Product, company or person? Odd journalism.

Cool invention from what I can tell.

Unique is 1 word for it. 36 engines and only takes over 4 to fail for a catastrophe? Compared to a 747 or 737 being able to fly on only 1 engine, even if all others fail

To anyone saying ohh 4/36 is a bad margin, this plane is experimental(as in first gen is being produced), for the rich who can afford it AND its electric, the odds of a failiure like this even with 36 active engines is low
With a weight to thrust ratio it is understandable why the plane needs at lesst 32 engines for enough lift
"Why not slap just 2-4 engines on it?" - its electric, they work different ways, it is not feasable or economical
Even though you might think this data is cr*p, for the electric aviation industry it is a big step forwards

Heard about batteries and computers catching fire in commerical planes ? Theres literal videos of what happens to this pos. The air pressure will demolish those batteries that power the plane lmfao. Dont forget aboit customer items that are the same issue as well. Heres another titan sub idea

Is this a joke? That's sooo stupid 😂😭

Revolutionary in that it has 1/3 of the range...

Batteries are not a cleaner option for transportation, can't people understand this.
