I love that you make sewing videos. I'm proud to say that I have sewn my own cosplay. You and Adam Savage make sewing truly part of being a maker. Great costume. Great Video. PLEASE make the staff, even if it's after DragonCon.

"I want to be part of the cool kids' club." Don't we all, Bill. But I could have sworn that you had a lifetime membership. Aren't you in the cool kids hall of fame?

My wife occasionally makes clothing for herself, and what she prefers to do for the pattern is to setup a projector pointed straight down at the floor. You need to do some calibration to ensure you have it plumb and that the image is scaled correctly but then you simply use a piece of chalk or such (something that will wash out) and trace the pattern directly onto the fabric. She has an ultra short throw projector now, but she started with a plain Jane cheap projector, I embedded a length of 2x4 into a 5 gallon bucket load of cement, and got a cheap harbor freight tv wall mount, the mounting pattern of course wasn't compatible with the projector so I mounted the projector to a piece of plywood then mounted the plywood to the TV mount. Tada, a projector that points straight down.

Nice work! I liked the idea of the magnetic clasps, they look nice and add a touch of realism. Hope Dragon Con goes well!

Have really enjoyed being along for the ride as the skills have developed from foam, to resin casting and molding, to 3D printing and now sewing and soft tech! Always been an inspiration. Thanks guys :)

I am loving seeing you and Brit making Gale and Karlach. I'm also making them for myself and my husband! Just had a Gale weekend and got most of the robe made, just need to tackle that belt. Loved seeing your Tara too 😂😍

Yay for remembering that windows in the day make adequate lightboxes for lining up multisheet printouts!

Last year, I was invited to the Las Vegas premiere for The Marvels as a cosplay guest. I decided I would make the new Ms Marvel outfit... and taught myself this whole process as I went along. Had to rip many seams that came out wonky lol! I think I learned a lot and I'm actually remaking it right now because I cut out a lot of detail to make the suit in time. I'm loving seeing how you took on this costume, especially the stamp!! My suit has a pattern as well but I was thinking I could do a stencil

For someone that doesnt sew you've certainly made quite a leap into it this year With t he number of hours you've put into projects requiring a sewing machine! Great work on the costume.

Yours definitely came out better than mine did. My first real sewn cosplay was the Witch King of Angmar. It came out too big but I made it work anyway. Had to patch together three different patterns to get the robe and cowl and those ridiculously long sleeves. Then I spent at least two days tattering the edges with a steak knife and a wire brush. I'll not be wearing a long black robe in Atlanta in August, thank you very much. Have fun at DragonCon and thank you for sharing with us! You guys are the best.

The de-aging of your beard was really impressive... I need some of that action! :)

Looks great! And I bet it's super comfy! 😉 Your whole process totally gave me flashbacks to when I made my Wong cosplay 5 years ago, even down to the purple & red color combo! Ah good & frustrating times... 😂😂

Cutting it close Bill! (I have zero room to talk...) Looks comfy though and love the 3D printed magnetic clasps. That's my jam!
